Heya everyone! I've just finished my finals so I'm taking a little time to post some work you haven't already seen from this quarter at SCAD.
NOTE: you may need to play the videos twice to see the beginning of them, sometimes the first half-second or so gets cut off.
Here's a few of the animations I did in my 2D Effects Animation Class with professor Gustafson:
And here's the other half of my final for my Caricature class (the previous post was the first half of the final):
My new website design at http://nathanhtaylor.com was created for Animation Professional Development class. Be sure to check it out, I have some new 2D work and a completely new demo reel up there with some of my work from Project London!
Enjoy :)

Sketches n' School n' Stuff
Hey, everyone! I'm back at SCAD for my last year of college (though I'm still trying to wrap my head around that fact).
Should be a great year, I already like my classes this quarter and I have great ambitions for... everything, actually.
Example: I'm working on a bunch of school-related projects right now. One such project is my friend Sean Farbolin's senior film. I'm helping him with the style of the film, and ultimately will probably be modeling, rigging, and helping composite the 3D pieces of it as well. Here's a few designs we've come up with for this sort of "dystopian patrol officer" concept we're trying to figure out:
Also, here's a few quick caricatures I've done of my roommates Matt and Sagan (in that order), just trying to really push my exaggerations:

-designs we kinda like
-the design on the lower right is closest to what we'll probably go with thus far.

...oh, and here's a creepy drawing I did, and a caricature Sagan Lacy did of me this past summer for fun...

That's it for now! I'll post more stuff as I make it. :D
Cheers!

Wow
So apparently I get sidetracked pretty easily - I keep not updating this blog. At all.
BUT! Here is an update!
I've recently been doing some caricatures in my spare time, because I've started to realize how much fun they are.
I'm still basically a beginner, but here's a few of the ones I've done:
Sean William Scott
Matthew Broderick
Myself
I've done some others, but they're not particularly identifiable. I'll post more as I do them.
In other news, I recently did a digital painting I'm pretty proud of: you can see it here if you want to comment on it, but here's what it looks like:

In still other news, I've been playing around with After Effects and watching the (free) tutorials at Videocopilot.net, which are AWESOME. Definitely check that website out.
Here's an example of something I made in After Effects: Click Me
(note: That's kind of a big file, but it's worth it. Also: turn your speakers on. It's better with sound.)
I'll post more updates as I make more stuff!
Nate Taylor, out.
